Issey Miyake is a Japanese fashion designer known for his innovative approach to fabric and production technology that results into interesting and practical garments. After studying graphic design at Tama Art University in Tokyo, and working for leading companies, including Guy Laroche, Givenchy and Geoffrey Beene, he decides to return to Tokyo. In 1970 he starts his own company â Miyake Design Studio, and begins producing women's fashion.
